The DECOWE Conference was a major dissemination activity related to the Hegesco project. The empirical findings of several European Projects were used as a basis for dialogue between researchers, HE management staff and policy makers. The main emphasis was on the key note presentations of the European Commission, OECD, REFLEX, and HEGESCO projects. However, other participants, including researchers, management staff of educational institutions, employers, policy makers and trade union representatives, presented their own projects, ongoing activities, surveys and studies from across the world.

The purpose of the meeting was to present the initial results of the Hegesco large scale survey to 40 stakeholders of the higher education system, including Gregor Golobič, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology. After the presentation, Dr. Pavlin and Dr. Svetlik answered questions from the audience about the significance of the surveys results in relation to the Slovene higher education space and its position vis a vis the rest of of Europe.

experience of policy, practice, evaluation and
assessment in the field of the sociology of
professional groups, practitioners and clients,
she agreed to answer a few short questions on
the subject while on a short visit to Ljubljana.

The Hegesco Advisory Board Meeting |

The purpose of the first Advisory Board Meeting of the Hegesco project was to convene 4 advisory board members, introduce them to the projects current status and to discuss with the project coordinator the main issues on the follow-on projects implementation. The board members provided advice and assistance to the project coordinator on the projects overall management and the performance of specific work packages, especially WP4, the most demanding project research activity in need of careful planning and monitoring. The meeting was accompanied by board members' presentations at the University of Ljubljana, on the latest HE issues at the EU level to HE policy makers, HE institutions and the science community in Slovenia.
